In 1992, Alan Russell was racing in 400 and 600 classes, including trips to the Manx GP, where he picked up replicas in the Ultra Lightweight class. One thing that he felt was missing from the scene for himself and his fellow competitors was a decent support service at the circuits for fitting tyres and supplying the many items that get broken, wear out or generally just give up the ghost in the course of a race meeting.
Taking this opportunity, Alan bought a van and some equipment, then started to offer tyre fitting services in the paddock to his fellow racers. From that humble begninning, A&R Racing Services has gone from strength to strength, becoming a regular fixture in the paddock at Bemsee, North Gloucester and Thundersport UK race meetings. In the intervening years, Alan reckons that he has supplied and fitted tens of thousands of tyres for racers.
Along the way, Alan has been joined by team members Geoff Stubbs, Jake Boardman, Jake Percival, Lindsey Eilkins and Paul Rowlinson-Coombs. This has allowed the team to give a slick parts mail order operation and attend more than one race meeting over a weekend.
Enthusiasts for racing and for customer service
Service for racers from racers is what A&R Racing is all about. With many years of experience in racing and well over 100 trophies on the office shelves, there is a bank of knowledge about what racers need at the circuits. This helps us make sure our paddock truck is always well stocked with just about everything you will need to keep your race bike running smoothly throughout the meeting.
You will often find Alan changing tyres well into the night to make sure that all our customers have the setup they need to make the most of their racing.
You can be sure of a warm welcome whenever you visit, and the advice from any of the team is always freely offered to help keep the wheels turning.
